Using Hermes Agent with Hologrow

Hermes Agent is an open-source, self-hosted agent from Nous Research. Use it when you want a local agent (desktop, CLI, or TUI) that can call Hologrow MCP as its data layer for synced store and ad data.

Prerequisites

At least one data source connected in Integrations and syncing in Data Explorer
Hermes Agent installed (hermes-agent.nousresearch.com)
An LLM provider configured in Hermes (for example Anthropic via hermes model)
An MCP key from AI Platforms

Step 1: Copy the installation prompt

Create an MCP key in AI Platforms, replace YOUR_MCP_KEY below with that key, then copy the complete prompt.

Install the Hologrow MCP server in Hermes and test the connection.

Connection details:
- Name: Hologrow
- URL: https://mcp.hologrow.ai/mcp
- Transport: Streamable HTTP
- Authentication: API Key
- Header: Authorization: Bearer YOUR_MCP_KEY

Requirements:
1. Add Hologrow using Hermes's native MCP configuration. Use API Key authentication only; do not use OAuth.
2. Make only the changes required for installation. Keep the API key secret and do not repeat, log, or include it in your response.
3. After installation, call Hologrow's list_platforms tool once. Do not call any other tools.
4. If successful, list the connected data platforms exactly as returned. If installation, authentication, connection, or the tool call fails, stop and explain the error.

Step 2: Paste it into Hermes Agent

Open Hermes Agent, paste the copied prompt, and send it. Hermes will install Hologrow, test the connection, and return your connected data platforms.

Security

Hologrow is read-only — it never posts or changes store/ad settings.
Rotate or revoke MCP keys from AI Platforms anytime.
